Functional principle

Lifting eye bolts according to this specification are primarily used as static load-bearing devices for permanent attachment to the object.
Taking into account a safety factor in relation to the minimum breaking force according to the standard, lifting eye bolts have the load capacities (kg) specified in the table for single-strand fastening.
The load-bearing specifications in the table assume that:
- the lifting eye bolt is fully screwed in,
- the tapped blind holes are drilled deep enough to allow the bearing surface to rest evenly,
- the lifting eye bolt lies flat and fully screwed on the bearing surface,
- the specified thread depth is sufficient,
- the base material can absorb the applied forces without deformation,
- no impact loads occur,
- there is a permissible temperature range from -20 °C ... +200 °C.

Assembly notice

Max. load capacity in kg depending on the load direction
A: axial per eye bolt
B: per eye bolt ≤ 45°
C: each eye bolt > 45° to 60° or the side of each eyebolt ≤ 45°
Lifting eye bolts must always be tightened to the contact surface. Transverse loads are not allowed. To ensure the correct position, suitable washers must be used.
For through holes, a washer (0.8 x d) should be placed on the opposite side under the nut. The tabular values must not be added for multi-strand load carrying. Axial load capacity WLL per eye bolt!

Note: Lifting eye bolts have to be checked for tight fit and obvious damage (corrosion, cracks, impact marks, deformation) before use. Lifting eye bolts should not be exposed to chemical influences (in particular acids, acid vapors, and pickling). Lifting eye bolts with obvious deformations or other damage must no longer be used. Subsequent color coding of the eye bolts, especially in red, should be avoided to prevent the risk of confusion with high-strength attachment points. Lateral tensile load must be avoided!

Warnings

When used as load handling accessories, the products are subject to EC Directive 2006/42/EC with the corresponding safety requirements. The installation instructions and load capacities must be respected. Lifting eye bolts according to this specification are primarily used as load handling devices for permanent attachment to assemblies such as motors, switch cabinets, gearboxes, etc. for their transport. For alternating use on different transport objects, lifting eye bolts with the next largest thread diameter must be used! The rules of EN 818-4 should be considered for multi-strand slings. Lifting eye bolts have to be checked by a specialist after installation and at regular intervals to assess the risk.
