The Nord-Lock® NL SC wedge lock washer combines the proven locking solution with a European Technical Approval for steel structures.

Because the cam angle "α" is greater than the thread pitch "β" a wedge locking effect secures the fastener against rotational loosening, even under the most severe conditions.

NORD-LOCK® NL SC wedge lock washers must not be used on unsurfaced surfaces.
Not recommended for:
- Surface hardness greater than the hardness of the washer (465HV)
- Very soft surfaces like wood or plastic

When used as intended, Nord-Lock® NL SC Wedge Locking Washers with PEINER HV Sets for (planned) pre-stressed bolted connections secure against loosening or unscrewing - even under dynamic loads - and thus achieve a permanent pre-stressing force in your bolted connection.

The Nord-Lock® NL SC wedge lock washer has the chamfer on the inside diameter that is characteristic of HV fittings, so that there is always an optimum contact surface between the HV bolt and the Nord-Lock® NL SC wedge lock washer.

The HV nuts are lubricated for installation. Correct installation is achieved by screwing on the HV nut EN14399-4 with the corresponding HV bolt EN14399-4 and SC washers ~EN14399-6. Pairing of the same make ensures the correct matching and the intended tightening behaviour. Additional lubrication of bolts, nuts and washers changes the preload parameters and causes assembly errors.
