Rip-LockTM washers are designed as locking elements against loosening for all mechanically stressed bolted connections of strength class 8.8/A2-70. They resist slight settling and reduce the surface pressure on the components to be fastened. The ribs to the contact point of the screw/nut support result in higher process capability and, due to the applied clamping force, additional resistance to loosening.
Rip-Lock – The Universal Lock Washer
- Applications
- Features
Washers for high-strength pretensioned bolted joints with universal locking effect for general requirements for process-safe assembly, including:
- Automotive/body construction
- Plant and mechanical engineering
- Vehicle substructure
- Transportation plant engineering
- Railway
- Engine mountings
- Load-bearing constructions, etc.
Industrial fastening solutions require defined contact surfaces for reliable assembly with a corresponding locking effect in operation to maintain the preload force. The proven Rip-LockTM locking washer has established itself in mechanical engineering and is proving its worth in general applications.
- Connections with requirements for a strength class 8.8
- Increased bearing surface where a washer is not sufficient
- Locking effect against loosening and conditional resistance against loosening
- Process-safe tightening behavior with reproducible friction value window
- Dimensions from M3-M20, design with narrow, medium, and wide outer diameter
