Weather-resistant fastening solutions for solar blinds
Griesser AG is a company situated in Aadorf, Switzerland, employing 1,250 people. Automated and controlled, Griesser solar shading systems don't just help prevent overheating and glare, they also allow their customers to save energy. The right automatic solar shading product thus guarantees maximum comfort and security.
For the installation of electric shading systems, plastic fasteners such as cable ties are needed. The challenge here is to ensure that these do not become brittle when exposed to extreme sun over a prolonged period of time.
Our recommendation: weather-proof cable ties and more efficient installation
For this application, we recommended weather-proof cable ties that are more resistant to environmental influences and can be used up to 85°C. As Griesser focusses on high quality products, the material of choice here was polyamid 6.6.
Along with this, we also made a proposal for a more efficient pre-installation process and adjustment of the cable ties. In this way, additional cost saving potentials could be leveraged.
Outcome: improved product quality and cost savings
With this new system of cable ties in place, warranty work can now be avoided almost completely and product quality of the electric solar blinds has been improved. Moreover, the blinds can also be supplied faster and more easily, leading to significant cost savings for Griesser.
