The name Jextar® Titan stands for high-strength fasteners that are optimally equipped for extreme operating temperatures and aggressive environments. At the same time, they are suitable for lightweight construction.
The Jextar® Titan was developed out of a need for extremely strong and resistant fasteners, exceeding the performance of regular A4-80 stainless steel.
Innovative high strength: titanium
To fulfil these requirements, titanium was used. Titanium grade 5 or grade 23 is the material of choice for extreme conditions or high external loads on the bolted joint. Its outstanding properties prove themselves in demanding environments, while also being cost-effective as well as environmentally friendly, due to its high recyclability.
- Titanium grade 5
- Titanium grade 23
Titanium grade 5 (Ti6AI4V-WS 3.7165)
Grade 5 titanium is the world's most widely used titanium. It is an alloyed titanium and is considered an alpha-beta alloy. Grade 5 titanium is alloyed with 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium and is commonly known as Ti 6Al-4V. This titanium is widely used for the production of fasteners and machine components.
Titanium grade 23 (Ti6AI4V-ELI / WS 3.7165-ELI)
Titanium Grade 5 ELI is also called Titanium Grade 23. Compared to grade 5 titanium, this material has a higher degree of purity. ELI stands for Extra Low Interstitials, resulting in improved ductility and fracture toughness. Titanium grade 5 ELI is highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking.
Jextar® Titan properties and availability
Jextar® fasteners are characterised by a high tensile strength of 950-1050 N/mm². They are non-magnetic, have a closed surface (oxide layer) as well as a high temperature resistance (400-690 degrees Celsius). In particular, grade 23 ELI is commonly used for medical applications and does not cause MRI interference.
The preferred range with material classes 5 and 23 for hex socket head cap screws DIN912/ISO4762, hexagon head screws DIN933/ISO4017, thin shank screws DIN 7964KE screws, washers DIN125 and nuts DIN934/ISO4032 is available from stock and can also accommodate additional colour design requirements.
