Bossard North America and Bossard Mexico has again earned recognition as a Partner-level supplier for 2018 in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. The Partner-level status is Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating.

Bossard honoured with a certificate for Smart Supply Chain Solution Award 2018. The Smart Supply Chain Solution Award is a special prize for innovative concepts that demonstrate the potential to fundamentally transform traditional value chains. The awards ceremony took place on the 21st of November, 2018, at the Hypermotion trade show at Messe Frankfurt, Germany.

The Bossard Group is strengthening its market position in China as a supplier of high-quality fastening solutions. It is taking over the business of Linquan Precision Co. Ltd., Suzhou, which generates annual sales of around CHF 8 million with 28 employees. Bossard is already present on the Chinese market at 12 sites with a total of some 280 employees. This acquisition complements the product range with fastening solutions for application in demanding industries. The parties have agreed to keep the acquisition price confidential.

The Bossard Group strengthens its competency in additive manufacturing by acquiring a 49 percent stake in the company 3d-prototyp GmbH in Stans. It is intended to increase this share to 100 percent within the next three years. The acquisition is part of a long-term strategy under which Bossard intends to establish itself in the future market of 3D printing. As part of this strategic orientation, Bossard was already able to announce partnerships with three manufactures of 3D printers in spring 2018; the Bossard Group took over the representation and distributorship of these companies for the Swiss market.

The Board of Directors of Bossard Holding AG has put forward Patricia Heidtman for election to the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on April 8, 2019 when Daniel Lippuner is slated to step down.

The Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Frank Hilgers as the future manager of the business units in the northern and eastern European economic area. As of May 1, 2019, the 52-year-old will take over this area of responsibility from Dr. Daniel Bossard; in addition to his previous group-wide responsibility for the category management.

Successful start to the year – best quarter in company history

The Bossard Group achieved broad-based sales and profit growth well above average and concluded the first quarter of 2018 with its best performance ever. Bossard decided on this early publication after market uncertainty began to spread in connection with a major Bossard customer in the US electric vehicle sector. In particular, we would like to clarify that the bolts in the power steering component affected by a recall were not supplied by Bossard. As reported by the media, the manufacturer of the affected component has accepted responsibility.
